So I really only have one goal before I turn 30, to run a marathon. So, since 30 is really close and it takes time to train and run a marathon, it has to be done this year. I decided to run a marathon in October. I am most likely going to run the Chicago Marathon in the middle of the month.
I decided that I need to write about this experience because at the same time I am changing a couple other things about my life. I have quit smoking, which is key if you plan on becoming a runner, and that is difficult alone because sometimes you just need to be able to leave the office. Too bad I don’t have that excuse anymore.
Here’s the deal, I am going to write this like a Bridget Jones’ Diary type entries. I need to lose about 35 to 40 pounds so this will make me accountable to more than just myself. And if I believe what people tell me, when I start training and running every day, the poounds will just melt away.
I am embarking on my new journey tonight, so wish me luck…I am starting at 194.5 pounds and zero miles run. Checkback tomorrow for an update.
